Re"lawning" the lawn

(28/08/2016) As you are probably aware our lawn is soaking! Like a wet sponge. We don't know what to do to fix it but one idea was to replace the turf. Up at Branch they have been digging out some grass for a shed, so in my infinite wisdom I offered to take it! Well that was a mistake! All it has done since we picked it up is rain. We have kept going regardless but it is the most hideous job of all time! Here it is before, it might not look bad but it will become clearer how hideous it is later on.

Before the first downpour we only managed this much:

The second time we went out we just worked through the rain.

And here is it at the end of the day. One row of bricks and one row of grass, this is going to take ages!

(29/08/2016) Everything hurts! We still haven't finished either.

(02/09/2016) I dug three rows after work on Tuesday and four on Wednesday and it is finally done. All of the new turf is gone, but we do have some more left that will need doing.
