Back border - starting again

So this back border is absolutely bonkers! Nothing will grow in it - not even mint, and there was an ant colony in it. So we're digging it out and starting again.

(14/08/16) unfortunately some of the brick work has slipped so this isn't going to be as easy a job as we imagined.

(21/08/2016) we've finished digging out all the soil and the bricks and we've washed it down so that we can see a bit better what we're working with.
