Panelling under the stairs

We've made a start on the cupboard under the stairs. We had the electricians in and they had moved everything, then we had the meters replaced and so more moving and now, before the floor goes down, we need to do the cupboard under the stairs. So here it is before:

 

It is gross!! There is a huge metal hole in the wall, everything is damaged and there are random bits of wood everywhere. Our idea was to pannel the walls that way we can cover up all the mess.

(17/04/2017) We started by stripping the artex on the ceiling and using smooth over to flatten it.

 

(19/04/2017) And we put up loads of batens on the wall, we knew it wouldn't be flat so the panels would need loads of support.

 

(20/04/2017) And now we've finished putting up the cladding. It wasn't as bad as anticipated really. Probably because we'd done put up so very much batens.
